Jane is a passionate advocate for collaborative networks and community engagement. She excels in forming trust-based partnerships aimed at shaping sustainable futures. As a Strategic Doing™ Fellow, Jane actively collaborates with various community stakeholders to enhance their capabilities and foster innovative growth.
Her leadership at Sustaining Hoosier Communities (SHC), a course-based initiative at Indiana University, is noteworthy. This program connects local communities with the university’s faculty, students, and staff, aiming to boost community health, prosperity, resilience, and vitality. Under Jane’s guidance, SHC received the prestigious 2019 EPIC Network Outstanding Program Award. Since 2020, she has been a valuable board member of EPIC-N, a global nonprofit advising university-community programs that enhance quality of life and societal well-being.
Jane’s career spans over 25 years in higher education, focusing lately on pioneering academic program design. She possesses extensive expertise in undergraduate curriculum development, co-curricular activities, and career guidance.
Originally from the northwest of England, Jane spent her early years near the Cheshire Plain and the Peak District. Choosing to be a Hoosier, she has made Bloomington, IN her home for three decades. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies from Birmingham City University (UK) and a Master of Science in Higher Education from Indiana University.
