CommPlexity Comes Out of the Garage
Last week we beta tested a one-hour CommPlexity workshop with 30 PhD students. Participants were asked to come prepared to talk about their research for 30-60 seconds. We then worked on two elements for improving their skills for communicating complex information and the participants repeated their talk, incorporating what they had just learned. We did a pre- and post-workshop assessment and the results are pretty exciting. In just one hour those listening to the presentations reported an 11% increase in their interest in learning more about the speaker’s research.
