Florida’s CareerSource Comes to the Lab
Workforce development boards are coming to the Agile Strategy Lab for solutions. The latest is CareerSource, the regional workforce board based in Tallahassee, Florida. Here’s why they are coming.
In developing a new approach to complex collaboration, the Agile Strategy Lab team cut its teeth difficult challenges of workforce development. The education and workforce development “system” in this country is not so much a system as a fragmented collection of higher education institutions, programs and government agencies. Over 50 years, federal and state governments have implemented a wide array of programs all designed to help youth and adults find meaningful employment.
There’s only one problem. None of these programs were designed to work together.
As a result, they tend to be highly inefficient. The cost is not born so much by the government sponsor as by the individuals left to wander among these complex programs. People who need education, training and guidance find it very difficult.
The Founder of the Lab at UNA and co-author of Strategic Doing: 10 Skills for Agile Leadership, Ed’s work has focused on developing new models of strategy specifically designed to accelerate complex collaboration in networks and open innovation. He is the original developer of Strategic Doing.
